WGSN Top Trends for 2026 & Beyond
After attending today’s WGSN Top Trends for 2026 & Beyond, the takeaway we’re thinking most about is "Guardian Design".
Anti-theft features are moving from niche to expected, especially for city-dwellers. RFID-blocking pockets, anti-slash materials, and lockable zips are becoming part of the value proposition.
What’s notable is how this shifts accessories from passive objects to active protectors. Design not only being about how something looks or carries, but how secure it makes you feel moving through the world.
Still sitting with how we feel about it. We’re already used to security as part of daily life, locking doors, luggage, phones. That sense of protection helps us move with ease. At the same time, I’m cautious about over-indexing.
For travel and everyday carry, it feels worthy to keep in mind.
