Remote & IRL
Ecco tannery in Amsterdam
We work remote first at Form Space, but we’re continually reminded how much better product work becomes when people are physically together.
Deep independent work is critical to our process. But every time we get in a room together, visit another studio, walk a trade show, review physical samples, or spend time around other industries, the work levels up fast.
Not because remote work doesn’t work, but because physical collaboration creates a different kind of momentum.
You notice details faster.
Conversations become less formal and more fluid.
Ideas build on each other in real time.
You absorb things you’d never get through a screen.
We’ve especially loved connecting with people in parallel industries lately. Industrial designers, material specialists, consultants, makers. Different categories, but often very similar ways of thinking and organizing creative problem solving.
It keeps reminding us that good design and development rarely happens in a vacuum!
